The pitch work has been completed.
Due to grants from North Yorkshire Aggregates Scheme, donations from local businesses such as Tarmac at Swinden Quarry and the offer of some free time and materials from Eddie Webster and Sons we have been able to drain and relay the pitch.
Work started early May and took 6 weeks to complete. It includes a full relaying, some levelling and the inclusion of drains. Hopefully this will ensure that the pitch is in good shape for the coming years.
After the work the pitch was left untouched for 12 months and since then has required a fair degree of TLC.
Finally in 2010 we had the pitch sand-banded to aid drainage.
The 2010-2011 season is the first full season where we used the pitch for all home games.
Now in 2012 we are back in full swing and ready for the next phase – the clubhouse.
